Serious Academy

Serious Academy takes place in a school full of delinquent girl students. The player characters will have to fight other students to earn their place within the school. Higher ranked students will challenge the player as they climb higher the ladder to become tougher. The player characters goal is to become the leader of the new four heavenly goddesses (the leader of the heavenly council). Serious Academy is a side scoller, 2D digital fighting game.

Game Features

• - Going to lessons teach the students   
that they were a part of something bigger

• - Not going to lessons teach the students that  without guidance  the world around them got incredibly small
• - Tasks, XP points, Side Tasks, leveling up, learning skills
• - Buying and selling items or weapons
• - Fast travel to any unlocked location at EXIT                                                                        points and many more
• - Random battles, players have the ability to skip if need be,                                                      can see characters at locations

• - Choices you make it conversations will affect the game

Explanation of Fighting Game

A fighting game is a video game genre in which the player controls an on-screen character and engages in close combat with an opponent,which can either be an AI or controller by another player. The fight matches typically consist of several rounds and takes place in an arena, while each character has a different abilities but each is relatively viable to choose. Players must master techniques such as blocking,counter-attacking,and chaining attacks together into combos. They are allowed to execute special attacks by performing specific input combinations.

Explanation of Side Scroller

A Side Scroller is a video game genre in which the gameplay action is viewed from a side view camera angle,and the onscreen characters can generally only move to the left or right. With video games that use side scrolling, often the screen will scroll forward following the speed and direction of the player character and can also scroll backwards to previously visited parts of a stage.

Project Scope

- The story is to be divided up in episodes. The episodes is a main event the drives the core experience forward. This will mean that the end of each episode will end in a cliffhanger. This aspect will help to focus on the development of the game’s story. 

- Scenes will not be so over dramatic but they will drawn the interest of the players so they anxiously await for the next installment. 

- Mostly driven through linear storytelling.

Influence - Majisuka Gakuen

- Majisuka Gakuen (TV Show) Reason that this is a influence is because the theme and genre can be turned into a game and it hasn’t have a game based on before. - Majisuka Gakuen is about an all-girls school of Japanese delinquent high school students. In which in this school, violence and fighting were commonplace among the delinquent students. But everything was turned upside down when a transfer student arrived and the higher up challenged her when her true self appeared and defeated the group of students easily after the word “serious” has spoken.

Influence - Skullgirls

- The gameplay mechanics and animation will have a great influence to this game. That will be because the animation is smooth and well-made 2D animation games are not that common in the gaming industry. The game mechanics is easy to follow with the structure of how moves can be executed but at the same time it is quite complicated to understand.
- In Skullgirls, players engage in combat against one another, with teams of one, two, or three characters attempting to knock out their opponents or have the most cumulative health when time runs out. The setting of the game revolves around the "Skull Heart", an artifact which grants wishes for women. If a wisher with an impure soul uses the Skull Heart, she is transformed into the next "Skullgirl", a monster bent on destruction.
